The release of the white iPhone coming up soon, further proves that the 5 won't be out anytime soon. My guess is maybe 4th QT of this year early 1st QT of next.

In the mean time, might get the white one for my girl, she's still on my old 3G and it hurts me to see her still using that thing.

I'm using the default Folding@home client from standford's site. FahMon and F@H WUdget report the core as Gromacs SMP, and it is using both cores. I noticed with activity monitor that it has spawned 4 threads each using around 45-50% CPU which is a bit odd as it is only a dual core machine with no HT. The PPD is at around 1080 and it is going at 1.66x minimum speed. What do you think?

That seems about right for a 2 core system.
As for the 4 process I think thats because the code was written to be used on 4 cores. This is how it should run on 2 cores. Unless they changed it since back when I first was folding. I have lost touch with the current stuff. :p

This post makes zero sense, and neither did your original claims.

Care to elaborate? I realize I haven't had my coffee yet but makes sense on this end.

    Never been suspended for non-payment.
Dropped a $10/month third line from plan ~ 6 months ago.

Although, now that I'm waking up more, I did lower my rate plan as well a few months ago. The 2 of us weren't using 1400 minutes anymore, so we went down to 550. This must be the cause of it.

No, he and like 7 others left Engadget because they didn't like how (AOL, owner) were trying to make them push content on the website. They are forming a new site with SBNation that will launch this fall. You can tell who the real talent was, as Josh got the break on this story and Engadget did not.

Yeah. I'm sure it was his "talent" that got the break on the story.

He couldn't have possibly made it up to get a pile of page hits.

What product will the T-Mobile chic bash now???

The same one: AT&T's network. The phones never really mock the phone so much as they mock the slow network.

    This is fun.
Yes, the iPhone does compete against Android. The last time I went into a AT&T or Verizon store, this was obvious. To say that the iPhone does not compete against Android is silly.

WRONG. iPhone = hardware. Android = software.
    iOS competes against Android.

Because there is only two hardware choices, the iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS. Making this argument is so empty, in that it does not take into account the reasons behind it.

WRONG. The choice is iPhone OR any Android phone OR any Win7 Phone OR any RIM phone, etc.

Hello Mr. Straw man. The article was about iPhone; if you read it it states "covering U.S. mobile phone sales". Now, if by mobile OS, you are also adding in the iPad, that is debatable. I've been a iPad 3G owner since April 30th and I can tell you that I do not consider the iPad a mobile device. Sure, its easy to carry, but to lump in its sales with phone handset sales is a stretch. If you are making that stretch, how about adding netbooks into the mix as well?

If those netbooks ran Android, I'd count them. But they don't. And YOU'RE bringing up straw men? Phone versus non-phone makes no difference if they're running the same OS and same apps.

When your sales numbers for phones are ~50% of that of your competitor; whereas a few years ago they were barely a blip, then yes that means they are getting kicked in the teeth in handset OS sales.

In your mind maybe. But only in your mind.

PS: Handset OS sales? What the hell does that mean?

I had to sell my beloved iPhone and kick AT&T to the curb because I get zero service here in my home just outside of Phoenix. I was so fed up with the dropped calls and AT&T had nothing but excuses for me, they also told me to wait til the next quarter so I could purchase a cell booster for home. What a joke.

LOL you didn't even know about the outage until i posted a link. now it was just some tiny network glitch that wasn't the run of the mill ;)

did i ever say apple's was gonna be the biggest and the baddest? the funny thing is....i use amazon vod all the time on my roku....so naw, i'm not really an apple fanboy but thanks for assuming.

Then what the hell was the point in your little rant?! Your whole argument was based on a rare outage. My original point was that Amazons 10 datacenters will work better than Apples 1...my point still stands.

FYI: I was very aware of the outage. I run a cloud virtualization (Xen based) company built on S3, GoGrid and Rackspace.

yeah that's not a bigadv unit. i think you have to download the correct binary before you can use the -bigadv flag (i think). just take a look at stanford's web page for instructions.

I thought I did everything right but... I did find that it was running another wu on 8 cores after I set it up, duh. Fixed that but it still won't pick up the bigadv so I thought maybe they are out of them? it will pick up normal wu's if it can't get bigadv one's. And maybe I need more than 6 GB of ram?

The fact that it's showing up on existing apps with no secret changes is a bit odd.

That would seem to rule out anything that involves an Intel processor. So Apple TV, then? Or nothing.

I believe icerabbit was referring to a feature to restore an item to its original location once putting it in the trash. Windows has this feature in the recycle bin and it's a handy little feature.

This isn't to do with Time Machine as the user has not yet deleted the item from the Trash and the system.
If so, that's a feature Macs had up until OS 9 (it was called Put Away) and it was nice--I'd be glad to have it back. Undo usually meets this need for me, but not always. (I think Put Away also worked for files you dragged onto the desktop.)

Thanks ! Been looking into it recently but my banker told not to even think about it ! :D

I just talked to an old friend. He got himself a PAM270, which is like 10,000 here in Europe. Put it this way: PAM005 is 3 times cheaper.:D

Looks like that toolbar is just listing USB devices to me. Doesn't mean any of those will actually work under VMWare. Is there a Windows driver for built in iSight or Apple IR?

I don't know about the Apple IR, but supposedly the iSight Driver from the Bootcamp driver cd (burn the drivers using bootcamp) work splendidly, and allow you to use the iSight in a VM in VMware's app.

pfft, this should not be front page news, hell not even second page... just a bunch of hearsay from a CR that knows nothing about it and speculates BS.

No kidding! You'd think this whole site was just based on "rumors". Jeeze!
