Dont see anything you mentioned about shortage of workers on Marketplace.
It would be great if we can get some support from David Heenan like Richard Florida.
Its just a thought,, maybe every IV member should buy this book and send it to their senator as a holiday gift..I am sure that most of these guys will not read it..but even 50% read or their staff read it, it will make an impact..

If he'll be receiving his paystubs for each pay period for next three months, he should still be in status.
Is the employer-employee relationship going to go on for 3 months? (ie. is he going to go to office, get paid at usual intervals etc)? If so, he is fine, he is in status. If he has been laid off, has no access to teh office anymore etc, then as far as H1-B goes, the employer-employee relationship has ended and he is out of status; he should transfer teh H1 asap.

I have recently spent 2 weeks in Chennai and my overall taxi experience has been very good being non Tamil speaking. All Taxis charge more when the starting point is Airport. That is inevitable. If it is just to drop them at the nearest hotel, ask them to approach the Govt Prepaid Taxi booth.
Govt's is cheaper compared to the private Taxis. Ofcourse the Govt only has Ambassadors as the Taxis. Do not expect the Taxis to be neat and clean like here. Expect broken handles.....There are 3 other private Taxi booths, of the private taxis Fasttrack seemed a little lesser compared to others, almost all private taxi rates are closer.
If they need the Taxi from hotel check out Fasttrack website and get teh phone no for Chennai. They have been pretty good an picking me on time, but make sure you reserve it well in advance (4-5 hrs). Whenever I called in the last minute, they were not on time.

Thanks all for your kind assistance.
After consulting with another owner of a D-100 (which I accidently met on the street) it seems that the problem is indeed power source related.
I do a six normal batteries and when I replaced it all went well.
One more thing.
Do u guys know a 4gb memory cerd (Hitachi's). The camera display is different when I use this card and an original (much smaller) one.
When using the 4gb card I can't see the number of photos left. Is this normal?
Is the card infected with some virus? Or maybe I received some cheap used card ?

As per the Consulate web site, admitting to hospital is not an emergency situation. But you better check with TTS and Chennai consulate through email. If you have any proof from the hospital about your father's health condition, scan it and send it to consulate. they normally respond in 24 hours.
If you applied for 485 and have AP, please keep it with you in case of need.

Technically, your H-1B status terminates once you are no longer working for and being paid by your H-1 employer. Being on a LOA does not protect you from this unless the LOA is for reasons that are both personal and out of your control, such as serious illness.
A new employer can file an H-1 petition for you even if your current H-1 has not been cancelled. You will be required to submit recent pay stubs with that application.
You mention AC-21 and having an EAD, but your profile does not indicate that you have a pending I-485. Can you clarify?

1. yes, if u use ac21, you can get ur h1 transferred too or opt to use your ead.
2. when u start new employment u fill out an I-9 form and will provide your ead at that time. It basically means you are using your ead for employment, which will automatically invalidate your h1b visa. so i don't think you can do the transfer at a later time.

Yep..not to worry..just go there on the date of appt..they'll just ask you to come back when the finger heals...I cut my finger...officer made a notation on my form and asked me to come when it heals..I went after a month and got it done

Also do they put a note in their system that you could not give the FP because of so and so reason. Also anyone knows what Boston ASC does , whether they permit walk-ins during the week.

To safeguard your own identity try to use any identity protection program, i do not work for or i am nto trying to do sales here, but i have used Bank of americas program and i used it for like 1 year it was pretty good. They alert you if there is any fradulent transaction like if any one tries to open a credit card or something with ur ssn number etc...
I would strongly suggest you do that and keep monitoring your reports.
I have seen so many other programs on TV about identity theft prevention software, services etc... sign up for something to be on safe side.
i also remember seeing something which rhymes with id lock or something, the CEO of that company displays his SSN number on all boards etc... i dont remember which one.
Just google for identity theft prevention programs and you should see lots.
