And btw, both my kids live with me, but they travelled with someone else to spend their vacation at grand-parent's house, so I am not trying to oppose your viewpoint.

does anyone know when CIR will be discussed in the house and in the Senate?
Senate taking it up in the last 2 weeks of May. House has not scheduled debate on CIR yet, I believe. Supposedly this is the quiet before the storm. I believe a lot of backstage deal-making and negotiating is going on to get bipartisan support for CIR.

I guess googling the SIN application process would help, but if you have reliable pointers please send them this way.
At POE they will ask you for an address for the PR card. Normally at land border they are strict and wont take a friends address etc. At airport they tend to be easier on you in accepting any address.
You dont need to do anything else. You may apply for a SIN number (Canada equivalent for an SSN) so that in the future if and when you do move there you can start working from day 1 because YOU WILL need SIN to work in Canada.
Many also start a bank account to show ties. You can do this depending on how much chance you think there is if you move there in the next 3 yrs before you loose your PR status.

We're in a unique situation. My wife and I married in India and didn't register our marriage; we're now citizens of country X. To get our marriage (and birth) certificate, we went to the local Indian consulate, which provides these services. But we were told that, since we're no longer Indian citizens, we should go to X's consulate. Is there a way we can get the certificates? How about registering our marriage in the US?
For BC, our parents sent us the affidavits and we were thinking to get a certificate of BC's non-availability through . Is there a quicker solution?

Congrats satyachowdary on your I-140 approval. Is your I-485 has been approved with or with out interfile request, let me know...
My new EB2 140 is approved with new date, so I sent following email to EBupdate.tsc@dhs.gov on 05/18 and my case is approved on 05/25. You don't have to wait until new I-140 is ported with old 140 date, the following email worked for me.

Thanks all for your kind assistance.
After consulting with another owner of a D-100 (which I accidently met on the street) it seems that the problem is indeed power source related.
I do a six normal batteries and when I replaced it all went well.
One more thing.
Do u guys know a 4gb memory cerd (Hitachi's). The camera display is different when I use this card and an original (much smaller) one.
When using the 4gb card I can't see the number of photos left. Is this normal?
Is the card infected with some virus? Or maybe I received some cheap used card ?

If you work for sponsoring employer, your H1B is still valid, eventhough you enter with AP.

One interseting thing you mentioned about your current employer "which is paying me half of what I should be earning as a GC holder".
Not paying the prevailing wage that the employer promised in the GC application....I don't know if you can use that to move and show that you wanted to work but the employer was not paying the prevailing wage and you had no option but to leave? I am sure that this is illegal on part of the employer...make sure you keep your paystubs to show this. But consult an attorney to see what he/she thinks.
