My wife and I returned one time from India to US exactly 2 days before visa expiry. we had new visa approval notice but didnt have new visa stamping in passport.

This is not reqd but if you want, you can send her your scanned copy of H1/H4 receipt notice, just incase to show that you both filed for extension if anyone ask for it. In general, send her scanned (or fax) your current employment letter to show that you are currently working here in US.

I ordered a Pentax Optio W80 and plan to use it for underwater shots in a very clear Ozark river. Plan to photograph fish and fishing scenes.
Will I need to concentrate on quiet water? Will moving water distort the image like it does from above?
Any advice concerning any aspect of this appreciated.

I am posting this on behalf of a friend. They (husband/wife) got their green card approval last week, however they got 2 RFEs for their 2 kids. The RFE is about a vaccine called PNEUMOCOCCAL (PCV/PPV) that's not been administered for the kids. The RFE mentions the requirement for this vaccine but the doctor deemed it as NOT-AGE-APPROPRIATE in their filed medical forms.

Our guess is that when they actually administered the vaccine about a year or so ago, it was deemed "Not age appropriate" but now upon approval, the USCIS deems it necessary. I'd appreciate it if anybody with similar experience can post as to how they handled the situation or any insights into who to talk to is also much appreciated. The family is currently not in the country and therefore their options are limited in terms of talking to or meeting someone face to face. Also they need to respond to the RFE by June 24...

I've an appointment in October at Munich, Germany consulate for H1B stamping. Because of time constraints I decided to get the stamping done when I'm out there for work. I've already obtained the german visa (though had to provide plenty of explanation !). This is my 9th yr extn (MS, EB2 - 140 approved)

- Can anyone share their experience at the Munich consulate?
- or, should I plan going to Canada and trying rather taking the risk in Germany?

I have a similar timeline - applied for LC in February 2002, got approval in December 2003, filed I-140 in February 2004, I-485 in March 2004. Currently filing for my fifth EAD! The USCIS not only tortures the whole family (it's a common practice that name check is pending only for primary applicant) but makes us to pay for the wait! My son was born around the time we filed for adjustment of status, he will go to school soon but we are still not sure whether we will be allowed to stay. We cannot plan ahead and open education funds for our children. My wife cannot go to college, as she is not eligible for in-state tuition discount. Needless to say, I am forced to sacrifice my career as the whole thing is dragging for 5+ years and I have to work at the same position to keep GC process alive. I've got MCSD certificate and outgrew my position long ago. I cannot quit my job and found a new business.
The USCIS explains the delay by national security interests, but the national security requires the very opposite - speedy processing of the background checks.

Different service center case number starts with different letters.
My case is same as yours. Earlier it used to be EAC, the latest one is WAC.
You should be able to use WACXXX... for online tracking.

Yesterday I e-filed my EAD and AP renewal for me and my wife but I think I may have messed up a little.

1) I forgot to save the confirmation receipt( pdf) for me and now I cannot get it anywhere. I did save it for my wife. I belive I need this along with the supporting documents. How Can I request the confirmation receipt from USCIS


2) I did not find any instructions come up for the list of supporting documents that need to be sent. Should I send the supporting documents (based on what I saw on this site) anyways?

Currently my wife is on H4

I'm planning to file H1 for my wife (through another employer on April 1st, 2009). Regardless of the situation (H1B Cap lottery process or general process) if my wife's H1B petition is accepted, processed and approved (generally betwen April 15th 2009 and May 31st 2009), she will get work permit (with start date of Oct 1st, 2009) by May or mid June, 2009.

My company is also planning to file for my H1 Extension (along with H4 Extension) in April (cannot be filed it seems due to other cases) So, in this scenario if my H1 extension (along with my wife's H4 extension) is filed after April 1st 2009, then we will have an overlap situation (as USCIS will be receiving two petitions (one for H1 and one for H4) for my wife) in the same timeframe. How will USCIS deal with these scenarios?

As long as her H4 is approved before her H1 (if she gets through lottery and approval process), there won't be a problem (as H1 will be replacing her H4 to my understanding).

But if her H4 is approved after her H1B approval, then there is a risk that her H1B will be cancelled because of H4 approval.

Please let me know solution to this problem. Thanks in Advance

In my opinion, one of the more intriguing product announcements from Nikon today was the Coolpix 8700. If it improves significantly from the Sony, that could be a killer product. Right now, Canon is lacking a bit in the true consumer DSLR market. But then again, PMA is right around the corner. The Sony has Zeiss glass and 28mm WA. But the CA and Noise are horrible. Isn't the Nikon 8700 has same sensor size as the Sony 828? Wait and see how the Nikon performs in those deaprtments!

I was looking at status of my EAD I applied on 15th October'2008 online at TSC.Status shows that my card has been ordered for production on 31st October.I received letter for Biometric appointment on 5th November. I went to ASC on Saturday( 11/1/2008) and had my fingerprinting done.

How can they order the card on 31st october when my biometrics were done by that date and my appointment was set for 5th Nov 2008 ? Anybody faced the same situation? I had gone for finger printing for I-485 this January.

Hello All,
I have couple of questions regarding Travel Document or Advance Parole.

My EAD has already been filed by my Lawyer but she is charging too much for filing Advance Parole or Travel Document,so here goes my questions.

- Is there a way to file for Travel Document myself, without involving the lawyer and if yes how can i do that

- Do I need to wait for my EAD Receipt being sent to me before filing for Travel Document.

Hello,

I am an F1 visa student and am marrying my sweetheart who is an American citizen. We are planning to pick up the marriage license tomorrow, in MA. I know one of the questions is "residence". Do I put my local residence (I've been here for about 6 years) or my foreign residence? I do not want to jeopardize my status.

Hi:

I am currently using EAD. My I-485 is pending status. I am planning to get married in India soon. She will be in India as I can not bring her on H4 and student visa is difficult. So dilemma is about 485 name addition. Can I add spouse's name in I-485 application whenever Priority Date is current?

If yes, then how does it work? I mean is it possible at all?
